Albert and Gage e-Newsletter April 2010
please visit our website albertandgage.com
Greetings from the MoonHouse in lovely south
Austin, Texas.
Spring has sprung in Austin. Gardens are
being planted, oak leaves are falling (making everyone sleepy), closets are
being cleaned, air conditioners are being serviced, cats are congregating on our
porch, thistles are flowering before we get them pulled and lawns are being
mowed. The great news is that we can dine outside for the next couple
months before it gets too hot!
This month finds us celebrating Easter at sunrise
on Rolke Ranch, taking the French band to Marble Falls, the trio to Arlington
and La Grange and helping some incredible folks in Long Leaf, Louisiana raise
some money to keep rejuvenating the
Southern Forest Heritage Museum.
We hope to see you out and about. Our music
is available at MoonHouse Records,
and video is streaming at the Albert and Gage
website. Thanks again for your
support.

A note
from Christine:
Life in all its glory is making itself known.
I am learning to take it as it comes, which is not always how you
want it to be. Our parents are facing some real challenges and
Chris and I are learning and letting go and stepping up and hoping
that we are doing the right thing. I took an unplanned
trip to South Dakota to move Chris's mom Darleen into an assisted
living facility and it was a true honor to be there for her at a
time when she needed my help. This month we had a scare with
my father's health as well. We baby boomers are all being
given the opportunity to give back to our folks now and I am
surrounded by friends who are rising to similar challenges. It
is surprising to me how difficult and painful it is but at the same
time how rewarding and affirming. It is similar to how it
feels to be a mother - unconditional love and no question about
giving your all.
Thanks to my stepsons Sam and Casey for heading north
and helping with the move - and to Ali for her cheerful Virgo self.
They're in training for when they have to do it for us!
Love to all, Christine |

And
a blurb from Chris:
I've spent a good bit of time in the
studio again lately. I've cut tracks recently for Eliza
Gilkyson, Marty Muse, Brian Langlinais, Walt Wilkins and the
Mystiqueros, Judy Lunn, Lesli Wood and others. Christine and I
also began production on a single of "Wings of War" that we plan on
having available by Memorial Day.
Want an inside look at the recording of Jerry Jeff Walker's "Down
in Belize"? Click
here to watch a video of the recording session. Jerry
Jeff, Jimmy Ibbotson (Nitty Gritty Dirt Band), Brad Fordham, Steve
Samuel and yours truly on the old Gibson archtop and accordion. The
recordings took place at "The Zone" out in Dripping Springs, TX.
New projects include albums by Casey Yeager, Sarah Smith and Judy
Lunn. Music can be fun!
Happy April, everyone. Plan a vacation this summer and spend
some time with your family. I hope I'm able to take my own
advice.
See you at the gig.
