Albert and Gage e-Newsletter March 2010
please visit our website albertandgage.com
Greetings from the MoonHouse in lovely south
Austin, Texas. Life is slowly returning to normal after our trips to Los
Angeles for the Grammys, Memphis for the Folk Alliance Conference, and Chris'
trips to Phoenix with Jerry Jeff and then on to Pierre, South Dakota to check on
his Mom. Travelling was smooth overall, the exceptions being a flat tire
in Memphis with just enough time to change it and for Christine to get Chris to
the airport in Little Rock (and then finish the drive to Texas with a fever and
slippery roads), and the fogged in airport in Pierre that forced Chris to hire a
car to drive him 3 hours to Rapid City to catch an alternate flight.
There's one flight out of Pierre on Saturday. One. At 8:04 am.
March finds us playing a few shows, getting our
health and strength up to snuff, and starting some new studio projects.
Oh, and it must be time to plant the vegetable garden for spring. Our
winter salad bar was very successful, even with a few bouts of ice and snow.

A note
from Christine:
I'm not sure what to write about today. My
world for the last week was very small - mostly the couch, our
kitty, cough medicine and tea. Repeated bouts with bronchitis
this fall have left me a bit depleted and I know I'm not alone.
This has been an unusually cold winter for us Texans and our bodies
seem to be showing the stress. For a girl raised in the
blizzard country of upstate New York you'd think I'd have more
stamina and tolerance for 30 degrees. Actually I've enjoyed
the cold ad wet weather. Soon enough it will be 100 degrees
for weeks on end and no rain in sight.
But first, springtime! I have had some
distractions from my gardening and blogging (like travel, freezing
rain and illness) but still I've managed to stay connected to our
great outdoors these last couple of months. I've cleaned up
and weeded and cut back and pruned and planned and I'm ready for the
good stuff - planting and growing and creating color and life in our
world. Veggies will go in next week so that we can keep eating
out of the garden this summer. We've had an amazing lettuce
crop this year - it inspires me to tend to the next round of food
and put some squash, cucumbers and tomatoes on the table.
A bunch of cool gigs this month and next. Hope to
see you out and about.

And
a blurb from Chris:
I made an unplanned trip to my home
town last week. Christine had dropped me off in Little Rock
for a flight to Phoenix to meet up with
Jerry Jeff, and I had been
getting emails that my mom needed some attention. I was lucky
enough to get on a flight to Pierre (there's not many) and spend a
couple days making tea and taking care of business for her.
She's doing okay, and I hope she'll be around for a long long time
but she needs a little more help than she did even a few months ago.
Mom, if you can get your email open....I love you and I'll be back
soon.
I got a funny look from the airline lady in Denver when
I asked for an aisle seat on the last leg. They're all aisle
seats, as I discovered.

One thing I decided on my trip. I'm going to be
nicer to my kids from now on so they'll take care of me when I start
to need a little help.
See you at the gig.
